Trio Alexander debuts with summer concerts

After getting to know one another while collaborating on concert performances, violinist Willi Zimmermann, violist Ruth Killius and cellist Daniel Haefliger now perform as a trio.
Willi Zimmermann served as primarius of the internationally performing, multi-award winning Amati Quartett from 1985 to 2007 and has been the concert master of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra since 2008. Ruth Killius, co-founder of the Zehetmair Quartet, is a sought-after soloist and expert on contemporary music. Many of her CD recordings are considered reference works and have garnered awards. Daniel Haefliger served as concert master of the Ensemble Modern and the Camerata Bern, is the co-founder of the Contrechamps journal for musicology and has realised numerous projects in the area of contemporary music, which has led him to collaborate with leading musicians of our time.
In July, the newly founded trio will debut with two concerts in Bad Honnef and Zurich featuring works by Schubert, Hindemith and Mozart. The trio’s promising debut is an exciting taste of things to come.
