Thomas Zehetmair kicks off the new season in Winterthur and Tallin

As expected, Zehetmair has prepared a sensational start to the new 2017/18 concert season. On 6th and 7th September, he will join Emanuel Pahud, a solo flautist from the Berliner Philharmoniker, to open the season of the Musikkollegium Winterthur. In addition to Sibelius, Mozart and Beethoven, the performance will also feature “Dreamtime”, a contemporary work for the flute and orchestra, by French composer Philippe Hersant, which he dedicated to Pahud in 2013 and whose original premier the musical dream team of Zehetmair and Pahud performed in Paris in 2014.

On 13 October, Thomas Zehetmair will perform in Estonia for the first time and conduct the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra with a varied programme featuring “Fratres für Streicher und Percussion“ (Fratres for Strings and Percussion) by Pärt, Bach’s Cantata BWV 202 and Mendelssohn’s 3rd symphony. In his interpretations, he delves deep into the musical worlds of the composers taking the musicians and audience away to the endless expanse his musical imagination.
