Thomas Zehetmair appearing this year twice at the Dresden Festival

Thomas Zehetmair performs this year in two concert evenings at the annual Dresden Music Festival and both times Brahms is on the program. On May 21st, Zehetmair will play Brahms’ demanding and beautiful Violin Concerto in D major op. 77 in the Semperoper with the Dresdner Festspielorchester under the baton of Ivor Bolton. At the end of the festival, another special highlight will be offered: Thomas Zehetmair will perform Brahms’ Double Concerto in A minor op. 102 together with Jan Vogler on cello. This closing concert on June 10th with the Festival Orchestra conducted by Bolton will be held in the Kulturpalast, which was reopened in 2017 and is praised for its warm and transparent sound.
It’s Zehetmair’s great phrases, his unmistakable sound and his musical sensitivity, which give his interpretations of Brahms’ works their special expression. Dresden can therefore look forward to outstanding concerts.
