With the program POESÍA, Cuarteto SolTango deepens its close artistic partnership with singer Leonel Capitano (El Cantor de Buenos Aires).

The five musicians dedicate themselves to the great poets from the Golden Era of Tango. Five of the most important authors will be represented: Homero Expósito, Carlos Bahr, Homero Manzi, Enrique Cadícamo and Pascual Contursi. Several pieces by each of them will be heard in different musical tango styles. The lyrical-romantic style of Aníbal Troilo, the dramatic-innovative style of Osvaldo Pugliese and the playful-virtuoso style of Horacio Salgán are particularly emphasized.

In addition, with a selection of instrumental pieces, the ensemble shows solidarity with a movement in Argentina that critically examines tango texts. In addition to many great poetic masterpieces, there are some texts that reproduce content so glorifying violence or misogynistic that they are considered “unsingable”. In these pieces, the singer is supposed to remain silent and the quartet is supposed to “save” the music.
