Performance of Thomas Zehetmair’s composition

This Sunday, Thomas Zehetmair will be playing in a trio with Ruth Killius and Daniel Haefliger at the Martinu Festival in Basel. In addition to works by Martinu and Beethoven, Thomas Zehetmair’s own composition Passacaglia, Burleske und Choral for string trio, which was premiered in Lugano and Geneva in September, will also be performed. Thomas Zehetmair himself says: “Traditional forms in a new guise attract me as a performer and as a composer. The fact that the contrasts between the movements are already expressed in the titles – it’s hard to imagine greater contrasts – is entirely intentional.”
