New CD by Andreas Staier: WTK II

Andreas Staier has released a new album on which he deals with the second part of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier. The junge Welt writes about his recording: “It is the great art of such virtuosos to emphasise the unmistakably unique character of the many keys that are only connected by their chromatic order – all around the circle of fifths – and to place worlds of moods next to and against each other that in summa almost encompass the whole world. Andreas Staier has dared to do it. He has won.”

A recording of the first volume is also planned and is expected to be released at the end of next year.
