New album series by the Trio Gaspards
Today sees the release of the first album in a series of recordings on which the Trio Gaspard has drawn inspiration from various cities. Berlin Stories thus features a combination of composers that seems unusual at first glance: Mendelssohn, Paul Juon and Nikos Skalkottas. What all three composers have in common, however, is that they spent formative years in Berlin and thus certainly took inspiration from there. The same is true of the Trio Gaspard, whose members Vashti Hunter, Jonian Ilias Kadesha and Nicholas Rimmer all once lived or still live in Berlin.
