Martin Stadtfeld: CD release “Homage to Bach”

Johann Sebastian Bach is inevitably associated with the career of Martin Stadtfeld. Now, Stadtfeld is going further, having composed his own piano cycle as an “Homage to Bach.” In his current program, he also brings together names like Schumann, Brahms and Busoni, having all worked on Bach’s famous Chaconne in D minor, originally composed for violin.
hr2 Culture sees in the program a “sovereign honor” to Bach and “exciting thought games and formal ideas”.
