Welcome Christian Poltéra!

As one of the most impressive musicians of his generation, Poltéra’s performance focuses on the music alone. Without great gestures, he reveals the essence of a work, with his personal timbre a hallmark of his interpretations.

Christian Poltéra has performed with almost all renowned orchestras worldwide and collaborates regularly with leading conductors such as Riccardo Chailly, Christoph von Dohnányi, Bernard Haitink, John Eliot Gardiner, Paavo Järvi and Andris Nelsons. He can also be seen performing at the major European festivals. In addition to his solo career, he devotes himself enthusiastically to chamber music. The string trio concerts with Frank Peter Zimmermann and Antoine Tamestit are an integral part of the internationally important music centers. He has also been Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Days in the mountain church of Büsingen (Switzerland) since 2013. Numerous recordings reflect his versatile repertoire and have received numerous awards. Christian Poltéra is fortunate enough to play the famous and legendary cello “Mara” (1711) from Antonio Stradivari’s workshop.

We look forward to a joint start in 2018 and to being able to accompany him on his fascinating artistic path in the future.
