Christian Poltéra with Beethoven Cello Sonatas in Taiwan
On the April 28th and 30th, Christian Poltéra will perform in Taiwan with his piano partner Hu Jung. The musicians face a great challenge: they will play all five Beethoven cello sonatas on one evening, letting the listeners experience with the development in Beethoven’s oeuvre. The two serene Sonatas op. 5 from Beethoven’s early period, the great Sonata in A major, one of the most demanding works from his middle creative period, and the two Sonatas op. 102 from his late period, standing out for their stubbornness and severity. This musical journey demands great versatility, deep musical understanding and almost inexhaustible expressiveness from the musicians, in order to live up to the lifetime of emotional richness of nuances.
