Thomas Zehetmair opens Styriarte’s anniversary edition

It’s the Styriarte’s birthday and it opens this year’s edition just as it did the first edition in 1985: with Thomas Zehetmair. The same way he did 40 years ago, he will play Johann Sebastian Bach’s Partita in d for violin solo, BWV 1004, providing a special introduction to the festival.
The stage will then fill up and in addition to the Styriarte Festival Orchestra, Ruth Killius will join Thomas Zehetmair to perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony Concertante in E flat, KV 364.
Mozart will also conclude the concert with his Jupiter Symphony, preceded by the premiere of a commissioned composition: ‘Dreams and Spaces’ by Flora Geißelbrecht.
For those unable to attend live, the concert can be followed on Ö1.
