New Recording Featuring Claire Huangci

Today marks the release of pianist Johanna Summer’s new album, “Dialogues”, which also features Claire Huangci. For this album, Johanna Summer improvised in the studio over pieces selected by Claire Huangci, Danae Dörken, Igor Levit, and Kit Armstrong, without knowing in advance what would be played. This resulted in four exciting dialogues that reveal personal connections between the pianists and the works. Claire Huangci can be heard performing works by Zhou Tian and Minako Tokuyama, which explore a completely different sonic universe than, for example, Robert Schumann’s “Andantino de Clara,” presented by Igor Levit.
