Mario Venzago is returning this week to play with the Bern Symphony Orchestra, where he was principal conductor for eleven years from 2010 to 2021. He is now back in the Swiss capital to perform two concerts together with Behzod Abduraimov on the piano. The programme will range from Anna Clyne’s The Midnight Hour from 2015 and Othmar Schoeck’s Sommernacht op. 58 to Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Debussy’s Troi Nocturnes.
