Jean-Paul Gasparian and Stathis Karapanos

The two young musicians Jean-Paul Gasparian and Stathis Karapanos are coming together this weekend in the beautiful city of Marburg. Together they will present a programme for flute and piano that offers many points of reference for the audience. For example, Mendelssohn’s overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream appears in the new guise of Achilleas Wastor’s arrangement and the same arranger’s adaptation of a rhapsody from Vincenzo Bellini’s Norma, dedicated to Maria Callas, concludes the programme. In between, works by Prokofiev, Poulenc and Liszt not only serve as gap fillers but take you on a richly coloured journey.
