Zehetmair/Killius duo at the Martinů Festival in Basel

Once a year, the Martinů Festival is held in Basel and aims to share the music of Bohuslav Martinů while familiarising international music icons and audiences with the Czech composer. This year, the Swiss Festival will welcome Thomas Zehetmair and Ruth Killius. The duo will perform a programme consisting of two duets by Martinů in addition to the works of Mozart and the world premiere of a composition by Johannes Nied.  
Thomas Zehetmair and Ruth Killius are known for their expressive interpretations of New Music and have already collaborated in numerous original premieres. They ingeniously employ Bohuslav Martinů’s tonal language with their stylish interpretations. The playful vernacular of Martinů music also features the occasional jazz interlude, which the renowned duo skilfully highlights.
