Francesco Piemontesi performs with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra

This season has gotten off to an incredible start for Francesco Piemontesi! Following a recital at the Schubertiade, tours with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and Chamber Orchestra of Europe, a performance in his home town of Berlin and a trip to the USA in between, the sought-after pianist will now be visiting Vienna for his next performance. Together with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, he will play Piano Concerto no. 24 in C Minor, which Mozart composed in Vienna in 1786 under conductor Giovanni Antonini. The minor key and extensive use of chromaticism are quite uncharacteristic of Mozart and give his work a tragic, sorrowful and sombre character, which Francesco Piemontesi masterfully conveys with his profound musical expression and flawless technique. The pianist’s impressive musical foresight and the exceptional collaboration with this world-class orchestra under renowned conductor Giovanni Antonini are sure to delight audiences.
