Francesco Piemontesi: Debut with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester

Another highlight at the end of the season – Francesco Piemontesi makes his debut with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester performing Brahms Piano Concerto no. 2 in B flat major in four concerts under the direction of the Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado in Northern Germany. On June 14th and 17th, he will play in the large hall of the sold out Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, on June 15th at the opening of the Musikland Mecklenburg Vorpommern season in Neubrandenburg and on June 16th  in the Musik-und Kongresshalle Lübeck. Brahms’ monumental four-movement work sparkles with inventiveness and technical challenges, allowing Piemontesi space in large lines and to shine with his sensitive musicality.
Francesco Piemontesi says about Brahms: “I cannot completely name the criteria for his greatness, but his perfection, his authenticity, his honesty as well as his poetry are certainly a big part of it. Brahms’ piano concerto simply belongs to the best works composed for this instrument.”
